Heal dry skin and you will be going a long way towards making the body feel more comfortable and more alive. If you are eating a diet with enough healthy raw food, you will already be getting a large percentage of the vitamins you need. You can also take in vitamins through oils which are applied to the skin. Other nutrients which are vital to skin health are the fatty acids, including gamma-linolenic acids and Omega-3 acids. These can be found in a variety of foods including oily fish, linseed and evening primrose oil.
Although you cannot heal dry skin purely from the outside, you can certainly do much to keep it in good condition once you have put your diet and lifestyle in order. Part of the answer is to stop using the standard commercially available skin cleaning products which are harsh and chemical based. These will deplete the skin of moisture if used for a prolonged period of time. Instead, use a natural solution such as oatmeal soap. Also use moisturizers which are based on natural virgin coconut oil, or which are in the slightly harder butter form.
Dry skin will also be the result of any excessive bathing, especially if you are using chemical based soaps and cleaners. We have all been told that cleanliness and bathing are vitally important, and indeed they are to a degree. What is not often said is that too much of a good thing can be just as harmful as not enough. There are many who believe that the body should only be in contact with water for a short period of time each day, and this can be achieved by using showers instead of baths, and just doing as much as is necessary to keep the body clean.
You can heal dry skin by following a comprehensive program which covers everything which can affect it. Protect the skin from anything which can be harmful, make sure that your environment has enough moisture in it, and eat the food which will give the body the nutrients it needs. Once you have done this, take the time to care for the skin properly with moisturizing lotions and oils. If you concentrate on giving the skin the nutrients it needs, you should be able to maintain it in good condition and never again need to heal dry skin.
